Mentre dipingevo la serie dei ritratti ho avuto modo di esplorare le espressioni del viso e concentrarmi sugli occhi, che secondo me sono la parte del viso che non mente mai: anche da un viso sorridente capiamo se la persona è triste, o almeno i più sensibili riescono a capirlo.

Mi ha colpito l'espressione del maestro , la pace che mi infondeva...e ho cercato di mettere tutte le mie emozioni in questo dipinto.

dipingo con una tecnica antica, quella della pittura ad olio.
Uso le velature quando dipingo, ovvero strati sottilissimi di colore perché molto diluito, che stendo sul dipinto man mano che asciuga, per ottenere effetti di trasparenza e trasformare il colore sottostante a mio piacimento.

Per conquistare questa particolare tecnica e ottenere i risultati che desidero, ci sono voluti moltissimi anni di esperimenti che non sono ancora finiti.
