Myriem MONGHAL “The expressionism of emotion” Born in Rabat, an ancient Phoenician trading post on the Moroccan Atlantic coast, Myriem Monghal is of Franco-Mauritanian origin. After various stays in the Caribbean and in England, Myriem Monghal returned to France, trained and perfected herself in different plastic arts workshops in Paris. In the service of painting, Myriem Monghal claims her Auvergne and Tuareg roots to give meaning to her differences mixed with contradictions. “Although scenes of life or nature in their multiple aspects are great sources of inspiration, it is in the studio, after a long time, that I commune most intensely with painting.Return then, with my brush, the impressions recorded: treasures which settle and of which I only express the essential. What remains dissipates to blend into the canvas with sudden movements. I can represent my feelings of months, years, previously Very slowly, in the memory of my subject, develops without violence, an intimate thought which penetrates with the multiple forces of emotion. Thus I reveal, through the shapes and the assembly of colors, an atmosphere where appear pell-mell, odors, noises, tumult, terror, mystery, in a background of music accentuating the relief. Thus is places my imagination and my vision of an internalized image, on the borders of the spiritual: the appearances of memory are replaced by the enchantments of contemplation, in the fixation of a given time. Thus at all times, my brush becomes a watchman for intensity and conductor of energy. It gives rhythm to space, creates the effervescence of matter, in its emergence, in the impetuosity of forms and the symphony of colors. Landscapes, storms, storms, tornadoes, squalls, sea surf, scenes of life mingle in imaginary spaces evoked by the emotion of memory. »Myriem MonghalMyriem Monghal received on January 6, 2012, from the hands of Antoine Antolini, on behalf of the EDMC**, the “Talent in today's arts” medal for her high-level abstraction. Myriem Monghal is also winner of the 2012 pair competition, the “Poet Prize” organized by ESCP** Europe and the Sorbonne, Paris.
