Take me Back to the Playground Days is a representation of how perspectives change as we grow. We look & are looked at differently. From a carefree phase of life - our childhood, when we're kids playing in shorts on the jungle gym, bright colours all around, not caring about the dirt to how wearing a pair of shorts can sexualize our existence as we grow. From not caring about staying & colouring within the lines to finding lines that box, divide & compartmentalize us.
I want viewers to initially feel joy & wonder at the thick & messy use of colours & geometry. But the painting has a heavy underlying subject that i hope for people to pick up on upon closer inspection.
