Maureen Gillespie is a contemporary painter from Ireland based in Oxfordshire. Despite being self-taught, Maureen's commitment to honing her craft has never wavered, and her journey is marked by continuous growth and artistic exploration.

In her pursuit of excellence, Maureen has attended numerous tutorials and workshops over the years, immersing herself in opportunities to further enhance her skills. Her preferred medium is oil, a versatile canvas upon which she applies a variety of techniques to bring her masterpieces to life. Every brush stroke is an expression of her profound passion for art, and her creations are born from a deep desire to captivate and mesmerize her audience.

A true inspiration to aspiring artists, Maureen's story serves as a reminder that dreams can be realized with courage and determination. Her unwavering commitment to her craft is not only a personal achievement but also a beacon for those who dare to follow their hearts.

Maureen's artistic focus finds its muse in the beauty of nature, with a particular affinity for the figurative style. While occasionally delving into abstraction, her primary canvas is dedicated to capturing the essence of land and seascapes. Her innate ability to seize fleeting moments from her walks through the countryside and along the coast is truly remarkable, embodying the play of light, mood, and atmosphere. Armed with a sketchbook and camera, Maureen ensures she captures these enchanting moments as they unfold, later meticulously translating them onto canvas in her studio.

Her artistic prowess has been showcased in prestigious locations across the UK and Ireland, with recent exhibitions in the Cotswolds, London, Ireland, and Jersey in collaboration with BNP (Paribas). Maureen's inclusion in the 'Oxford Art Book: The City through the Eyes of its Artists' further attests to the recognition of her artistic talent.

In addition to her exhibitions, Maureen has been awarded the esteemed Artists Residency at The Cill Rialaig Project in Kerry, Ireland, in 2015. Currently serving as the Artist in Residence at The Wychwood Golf Club in Oxfordshire, she continues to create and showcase her artwork.
