Biography
Garland is a self taught women Irish artist, born and bred in Belfast, and has made her home and studio in Dundalk from where she paint. She has always had an interest in art, having been self - employed for nearly 40 years creating signage and graphics for the business world...She has now officially retired from the business world and she allowing herself more time these days to create her own personal pieces of art and to enjoy the creative process of painting and drawing. Acrylics and watercolours are her mediums of choice, sometimes painting Plein Air if the weather suits, although she generally paint from her own photographic sources editing in Lightroom and Photoshop to create her compositions and lighting, she also have a strong interest in Photography, and particularly like creating digital montages. Vector Art also figures in her creative output using Affinity Designer / Photo to render these pieces. She likes to explore the effects of light and shadows in Landscape & Figurative work, but occasionally she will paint other types of subjects for a change.
