Martin Coste, visual artist, born June 27, 1980, in Liège, graduated in plastic and visual arts and three-dimensional research at the Academy of Fine Arts in Liège in June 2004. During his career, he diversified and then also uses video, sculpture and installations, because he considers the medium not as an end, but as a means to express who he is.
" At the crossroads between abstract expressionism and new realism, Martin Coste's art gives the impression that the work took place naturally, almost without effort.
Through discarded objects, he expresses himself, and we discover the richness that simplicity can offer.
He approaches us head-on...
The encounter is sensory...it ignores the reason.
Marked with poetry, his works are open to the senses, free of all definitions and all strict meanings. They are a sketch, a starting point."
Yolanda Lorente Carrillo
" Martin's painting is a poem that can be seen.
An imprint, a trace, a man who exists by creating and recreating.
Martin reinvents, without great means, Life.
This life which is not always easy...
So he scratches and then cuts to then paste his pieces of memories imbued with sensations and emotions.
Using lines and signs, Martin sews the path that is his.
With great simplicity, he makes us discover a new world..."
