Martin Ecker’s abstrakte Gemälde scheinen eher das unendliche Streben nach ihrer eigenen Kraftquelle zu erfassen, als irgendeine tiefe, ewige Bedeutung. Sie begeben sich in einem ständigen Wildwuchs von affektiven Intensitäten und vibrierenden Spuren. Echtes Silber, echtes Gold, falsches Silber, falsches Gold lösen sich in ihrer Nachahmung auf und bilden rhythmisch schimmernde Farblandschaften, die mit nuancierten Abstufungen, Versengungen und Abriebspuren pulsieren. Die Körperlichkeit der geronnenen Farbe erfordert taktiles Sehen. Aber auch ein philosophischer Nervenkitzel ist in die Abstraktion eingebaut, Raum und Zeit, die unaufhaltbare Veränderung durch gezielt eingesetzte Oxidationen schwingen in diesen Farbfeldern die eine Art kollektives Unterbewusstsein darstellen die Ecker selbst zähmen will, indem er seinen Werken Titel gibt. Und so wird der Wert zum Labyrinth, bricht durch, bricht aus einem größeren theoretischen Hintergrund . . .
