Selon le contexte, un rendez-vous, une rencontre planifiée, peuvent provoquer chez l’un comme l’autre une grande joie, une exaltation ou peut-être de l’indifférence ou encore une appréhension. Mais avons-nous toujours l’heure juste? Souvent cette rencontre est déjà imaginée ou jouée dans notre tête. Comme dit Paul Coelho : « Les rencontres les plus importantes ont été préparées par les âmes avant même que les corps ne se voient ». Parfois tout se passe comme prévu mais, aussi, ce peut être une surprise agréable ou désagréable. Je choisirai la surprise agréable pour ma peinture. Ici, c’est une rencontre révélatrice qui me permet de mieux connaître l’autre et de l’apprécier à sa juste valeur. Aucun préjugé ne flotte dans l’air même si une première impression n’a pas été à son meilleur; peut-être était-elle trompeuse? alors l’ouverture est de mise pour mieux y voir clair. Dans le fond, si un rendez-vous a été donné, c’est qu’il y a un intérêt l’un pour l’autre et quel que soit cet intérêt, c’est un bon début. Pour finir, je citerai encore Victor Hugo : « Deux sourires qui se rapprochent finissent par faire un baiser ». MN

Having completed my artistic studies at the Superior School of Applied Arts in Paris, over the years, I have revived my resources in my Masters in Plastic Arts Education studies and through my commitment to teaching. I then broadened my means of expression and embarked on sculpture, engraving (etching and screen printing). Then comes the exploration of various processes and materials (including plaster and tissue paper) that led me to use mixed techniques. In recent years and still today, I favor acrylic painting which leaves a lot of freedom, and almost always pastels and various grease pencils add to what acrylic cannot.
