From the Series Illuminated Landscapes/
Impressionist and organic in nature depicting trees, rocks, mountains, oceans and rivers all in a state of movement or change by the elements, seasons or time. Mono No Aware & Shinto.
Influenced by artists JMW Turner and Chang Dai-chien. Painted base of acrylic, then gold leaf followed by Sumi-e technique with black acrylic ink, ink pen and tinted ink glazing finished with a clear satin acrylic.
This painting has hardware and is ready to hang.

When Marcia began her formal art education as a student of the Fine Arts at Weber State Universiy, Utah she became enchanted with the works of many great masters. Klimt, Mackintosh, Parish and Rodin were among her early favorites. She's often told that her La Femme Series is reminiscent of those art masters and pleased that their influence shows through in them.
Marcia was honored to have been discovered by and picked by Robert Rauschenberg (National Medal of Arts) as his choice for America's top rising artist.

As Marcia's bodies of art evolves, she explores new ways to manifest her interpretation of the world. She's especially fond of the elements of nature and of the inward workings of mind and spirit. She has a deep appreciation for many ancient spiritual teachings and art disciplines Sumi-e, Ikebana / Kado.
Her current bodies of work incorporate aspects of them in 2 dimensional form with the combination of inks and tints over gold leaf as well as painting within multiple layers of poured resin creating a 3 dimensional depth to her art.
Marcia's artwork can be found in private art collections throughout the US, Australia and Europe.
