When you start working on your paintings again after a long break, you sometimes ask yourself: What am I actually doing here? Is this art? Does Bob Dylan's assessment, "The truth is where the truth is, and sometimes the truth is in the candy store," help here? Or is it simply "the joy of painting," as a well-known television artist put it?

Just start. Then something like this happens: It starts with just the image of a telephone, which turns out to be unsuitable; so another one has to be found. OK. Associations, where are they? "Sylvia's Mother" by Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show comes to mind and into my ears. Didn't it have something to do with a telephone? Familiar territory. Music and the stories behind it. Something can come of that; "Elementary," a CBS television series with steampunk influences, forms the background, and here is the result: a little picture story.

I've combined four individual works into one work/story; but the images are also available in a different format as individual works.

There will be ten copies of this work, each printed as a giclee on Hahnemühle German Etching paper. The dimensions of the actual artwork are 40 x 40 centimeters, but there is a five-centimeter border, so the complete work measures 50 x 50 centimeters. However, it's not entirely accurate to call this a limited edition, as each copy bears a signature and number as well as an individual mark, making it somewhat unique.

This is also the reason for the potentially longer delivery time, as each print is produced "on demand."
