This series of wildlife pieces is all about "BIG CATS" after seeing and photographing big cats such as Tigers and Leopards up close whilst on safari's in India 2015, 2016. All of these works are done with charcoal pencils and the paper is indented or embossed to create the fur textures.

Biography
Lynton Bolton, an artist based in the city of Gloucester in the UK, has his roots in the fields of professional photography and graphic design. Merging his talents in these two crafts, Lynton combines his skills to create charcoal drawings of exceptional photographic reality, depicting nature and wildlife with remarkable precision.
His artistic process is based not only on his natural skill and talent, but also on his empathy and emotional connection with his works. Her intricate pieces show an intimate respect for nature, but also an appreciation enriched by a lifetime of travel and photography in distant ecosystems. Through an immersive fusion of art and observation, Lynton Bolton's work represents a visual celebration of the natural world and all the creatures that call it home.
Each work requires approximately 120 to 200 hours of work. He uses Saunders Waterford HP 300gsm paper, measuring 56cm x 76cm for his designs.

Der Jaguar ist ganz toll gezeichnet, denn es ist ja ein faszinierendes Motiv zur fotorealistischen Darstellung. Ich würde nicht sagen, dass dein Bild Hyperrealismus ist, denn es ist Fotorealismus. Während der Fotorealismus durch die brillante, realistische Darstellung vor allem schön sein will, stellt der Hyperrealismus in der Darstellung kühl und profan „überspitzt verstörender“ Wirklichkeit die Frage nach dem Wesen der Dinge in einen fast schon ironischen, existentialistischen Kontext.
Warum fotorealistisch zeichnen, wenn es danach genauso aussieht wie das Foto??
The jaguar is drawn really well, because it is a fascinating motif for photorealistic representation. I wouldn't say your image is hyperrealism, it's photorealism. While photorealism primarily wants to be beautiful through its brilliant, realistic depiction, hyperrealism in its depiction of cool and profane “exaggeratedly disturbing” reality poses the question of the essence of things in an almost ironic, existentialist context.
Why draw photorealistic when it looks exactly like the photo afterwards?
