Line Chabot was born in 1972 on the Cap Lévis. Nourished by a river and after went Studies in graphic style brought in visual production and surrounding development. Today she accomplishes her ambition as a painting artist. Her influences are impressionist, such as van Gogh for his exiting light, surrealist like Dali and Magritte with their remarkable concepts, the perspectives of the human being in tension between picture and real, and an abstract technology confronted to a reality where acceptability is questioned. RESUME
Line Chabot was born in 1972 on Cape Lévis. Nourished by a river and skies ripped by air show of jets, she joined the Canadian Forces, and later went on to complete her studies in graphic style. Presently she wants to turn into reality her dream of becoming an accomplished painter.
Her influences draw from impressionists like Van Gogh, whose use of tonic light she finds inspiring, surrealists like Dali and Magritte who have taught her the importance of remarkable concepts. Her art presents us the perspective of a human being that struggles between picture and reality. It puts face-to-face our struggle with technological advances and a reality where the limit of what is acceptable is constantly being questioned.
''My approach consists of painting with naturally moving gestures and spontaneity. I start with abstract forms and avoid complete definition of shapes in order to produce an enigmatic effect. In doing so, I allow the picture to speak for itself through lavish abstracted textures, colours and light. I add different objects found during my walks to the background of autumn colours. Rather than trying to imitate water flow with exactitude, I let the paint wash the canvas in a flowing pattern that mimics water movement. Owing my inspiration to nature has lead me to the exclusive use of recycled paint, wood, cloths, and various media. I respect the environment and hope that my colleagues will follow my steps and extend their commitment to protecting nature as well.''
