Biography
Lola Kerecki has always had a passion for the arts. Showing an interest and aptitude since the early age of 3 - She has always had some sort of brush/tool or pencil in hand. Mostly self-taught, however, she did study art privately in Engien Les Bains, a small, colorful town outside of Paris, France while absorbed various techniques from the notable street artists that were students of the Sorbonne and Ecole des Beaux-Arts in France. She continues to this day to learn from local talented artists - to expand her style & knowledge of different formats & mediums.
In the year 1995, is where her dream became a reality - to live in New York & paint. For the next 8 years she continued to apprentice with local New York artists -one of which was a major influence, L.A. Willette who has since passed. She continued to earn her living through the sale of private commissions. After several successful private exhibitions in New York, Lola re-assessed and decided to return to Toronto in 2002.
Continuing to paint & train with local artists, Lola has never wanted to define her art and lets the process evolve on its own organically. In 2007 she apprenticed with Eric Budovich, who was a student of the world-famous Norwegian Post Modern artist, Odd Nerdrum. In 2009 she wrapped production on “The Last Liberal Cowboy in All of the U.S. of A”, as the Art Director for Raised Eyebrow Productions, a Toronto short film company. As always, she is willing to learn new techniques and in 2011, she sought out local Toronto artist, Matt Tarini - known for his specialty in realism, and proud to say she was one of his first official students.
Lola has re-focused her efforts not only to private exhibits but expanded to Toronto Galleries and is currently working on a brand new series of paintings and reclaimed artwork for an upcoming show. Her revamped website reflects her various works, passions and influences. She hopes her work will contribute, influence and inspire not only art enthusiasts but society as well.

Artist's Philosophy
Art is a platform for my visual creativity. The ability to express emotion, thought & truth whether it be through a paint brush, collage or fabric. I will always be an enthusiastic student of art; able to use any number of avenues to present my work. Art emotes a reaction whether positive or negative, the balance of light and dark or simply to create depth in an empty space. I simply want to enhance and beautify one's surroundings. My work is ongoing and path is ever changing. Please join me on my journey.
