The kinetic art of the Sixties, by developing the theoretical discourse of Tristan Tzara, began to explore the potentialities of light, and light art, or light-art, continues today to trace this visionary path. Lino di Vinci's light installations are a totally innovative language, surfaces that question archetypal myths in the dynamism of contemporary society. They are magical works, which develop just like the page of a story or like the oral structure of the myths of the Australian aborigines. The focal points and the colored transparencies seem to want to intuitively explain the Dream Time from the beginning of a fetal evolution until the growth and maturity of an individual inserted in an indeterminate environment and underlined by suggestive nuances that awaken emotions, linked to the five fundamental elements: wood, fire, earth, metal, water (warm and golden colors, to the cold universe of blues and greens, and to the philosophical catharsis of milky densities). Nature is a harmonious set of polymorphic beings, creatures that contain the very essence of life and, penetrating every aspect of sensible reality, come together in a series of energy flows. This pantheistic notion is central in shamanic spiritualities at all latitudes. Japanese tree kodama are portrayed in a manner similar to Welsh pwca, like shadows appearing in the woods, which are entertained to the loss of lone travelers. In the night, far from the chaotic spaces of the city, the sky is filled with the poetic magic of glowworms, which float like wisps and which symbolize the creative narrative, graphic or performative inspiration. The wefts woven in the chiaroscuro are transformed into fine filigrees, silversmiths and dioramas which develop the descriptive poetic techniques typical of the oriental shadow and light theater and which stage the dreamlike dimension and the concerns of the human being. Small, smooth, filamentous circumferences float like an enlargement of living cells, but upon closer observation, the viewer will be able to imagine the gears of an astrolabe complex serving to study the introspective revolutions of an intimate vault of heaven.

Lino Di Vinci,

Lino Di Vinci, a graduate of Academia Ligustica di Belle Arti di Genova, has
been involved with art professionally for a great many years. He has had
personal and collective exhibitions in Italy (Milan, Rome, Genova, Bologna.)
and internationally (Tokyo, Paris, Berlin, Gand, Nice.Eire,Spain..) He has

his sustained artwork has advanced and supported a creative cross over that
narrows the boundaries between art and the everyday.
