Born in 1972, Lilia lived and studied in Paris, Madrid and Dublin.
Lilia El Golli is a Franco-Tunisian author-photographer, living in France and making numerous stays in Tunisia, notably from 2012 to 2015 where she settled in order to deepen the knowledge of her roots.
Through different photographic techniques, she invests the world of the imagination and our notion of beauty, aesthetics having a preponderant presence in her expression. She questions our relationship to the earth, her condition as a woman, as well as the gap between the imagined and the imaged, where the aura (inner space) mixes with the agora (public space).
Her journey takes her into imaginary worlds, constructed or dreamed, to visit in turn the unsaid, the invisible people, each time digging a little deeper into the notion that she likes to describe as “The unseen”, i.e. everything that surrounds us on which our gaze no longer stops, because it is judged as non-consumable or of little importance.
Her work has been presented in London, Geneva, Annecy, Paris and Tunis since 2011, she collaborates with media and newspapers such as Arte TV, Carnet d'Art, BabelMed, La Gazelle de Tunisair, and won a distinction with Havas Worldwide Agency with awareness-raising work on the pollution of the Mediterranean coast in 2013, as well as the honorable mention at the Africa Photo Awards, “Fine Art” category in 2020.
