The pictorial work of Laïos Hendrickx is divided into two periods. A first where the painter, following on from Braque, represents what he calls cities, a sort of geometric camouflage of oneself, a strong denunciation of human facades. All the works from this period bear witness to a great richness of composition. The second period is a sort of shared perspective on the world. Characters always amputated of part of themselves, bringing together the world and the extra-world, the old man and the child, the man and the woman, Europe and Africa suck the visitor into a sort of painful synthesis of the world.
