My name is Oksana Petrushina and I present myself under my artistic name Ksenya Morozova. I was born in a big industrial city in Russia named Chelyabinsk in 1994. I lived there till my twenties but all this time I felt that my soul was somewhere else. Probably this explains why since an early age I was passionate by travailing and painting.

Aquarelle study in the heart of Bordeaux

The beauty of every corner of our planet gives me the feeling of fulfillment and inspires me to do experiments with different artistic materials. I was challenging myself experimenting with gouash, aquarelle, pencils, pastel and finally my favorite oil paintings.

I am passionate about nature, about micro and macro life as well as about human nature. So many times I found myself staring people just because in my mind  I already was searching the right combination of colors I needed to mix to get the color of their rids, eyes or lips. Same thing happens when I see regular things on the streets as a corner of the house or just its door, beautiful tree, stone gates etc.

In the place of inspiration

I started to have this unique vision of our reality just several years ago when I came to Bordeaux, France for studying. Cultural and historical heritage of France is incredible and I perfectly see why so many painters and writers have been coming in France to develop their skills and just be inspired.

3 years ago after entering the Private School of Arts (ADBA Academy) in Bordeaux I started to develop my artistic skills. Along with this I got a fundamental knowledge about  the differences of the artistic supplies.  Conquering the larger formats of canvas with my Nature project was a great experience for me. This period of my life was quite struggling and it is probably seen on my paintings, I primarily played with dark of cold shades as grey, night blue, red carmin, green… These colors may seem for some pessimistic but others find them very attractive and magical.

Since two years I have been highly  concentrated on the realistic and hyperrealistic portraits. I am fond of details, and these styles give me all the opportunities to express myself. I love when people get their first impression standing in front of the painting. Sometimes the emotions can be completely different – from fear to joy.
