This work depicts one of the most mysterious and mystical goddesses of Scandinavian mythology, Sigyun.

In my oil painting, Sigyun is depicted in full-length, she is dressed in a white dress that sparkles against the background of a dark cave. Her hair falls to her shoulders in soft waves.

The copper plate at her feet is a key element of this oil painting, as with the help of her Sigyun, holding the tarel over the head of her beloved Loki, she saved him from the dripping poison.
It was on such plates that the poison was offered to the goddesses and gods so that they could take their place in Asgard - the house of the gods. But in my oil painting, this copper plate is a symbol for us humans. The fact that our decisions can have severe consequences, and therefore we must be careful in what we choose.

I really like working with oil paints because it allows me to convey the depth of feelings and emotions on canvas. I used the technique of applying paint in several layers to create a realistic image of the heroine, who towers over the cave. The glow of the cave background highlights its beauty and mystical character.

I hope that my oil painting "Sigyun" will arouse the interest of the audience and help them to look into the world of ancient Scandinavian mythology in a new light. I will be glad if you are inspired to do something new by seeing my creative work.

My name is Katerina, I was born and raised in Belarus, I received my first education at an art college, and also attended various graphic arts courses. In 2022, she graduated from the Faculty of Cultural Studies. My life has always been filled with creativity. I was interested in photography, created interior dolls, and worked as an artist at a small factory in Belarus. In 2021, after moving to Poland, my career as a painter began. Now I paint oil paintings and more than ever, I really enjoy my work, I'm looking for my own style, trying different techniques and genres. My works are in private collections in Europe and America. Now I live in Georgia, I work with business owners and I am working on a series of paintings that I am preparing for the exhibition. I also started working on my own project to create an art space.
