The painting "Erika" is one of the paintings in the "No Shyness" series.
In Erika I wanted to show two images. The first image is of a glamorous girl with a beautiful body. The second image is of a Russian rural girl who lives in the countryside, gets up at 6 am and does household chores.
Nude is one of my favorite genres. The female body, for centuries, has inspired artists and was an object of admiration. I like to create sensual and vivid paintings. In the "No Shyness" series of works I wanted to convey the subtle features and nuances of the female body, its curves beauty and specialness. In painting this series, I take a nude figure or part of it and focus on the fragments. In this series I do not name the paintings, but the girls who are depicted in them.
This painting is made with pastels on special paper for soft material and coated with an aerosol fixer for soft materials.
