From an early age, Karl Andlinger used his father's analogue camera; today he primarily works with mixed techniques of pastel and charcoal. Various commissioned works now adorn plain, monotone walls. The Austrian artist shows insights into his working methods and finished results on his website and his Instagram channel.

In November 2022, Karl Andlinger had his first exhibition at "Le Passepartout" in Lustenau. For Andlinger, the focus is on artistic implementation, which is why he has had little time to make his works accessible to the public - but he has always been productive and creative. The Austrian artist came to painting through photography.

Andlinger discovered drawing with pastels more or less by chance. Smearing the artist's chalk usually leads to shapes and structures that, when put together, create an overall object. The first attempts to get involved with the essential contours and shapes seemed promising. These structures gain their expressiveness and appeal through reduction.

Other drawings in which mixed techniques such as charcoal, pastel, ... are used embody structures that give the viewer access to microforms.
This detailing is intended to provide perspectives on reduced gradients that are not perceived in a more global view of the objects in depth.
