Karen est une artiste autodidacte, née au Guatemala un petit pays d'Amérique centrale ayant pour décor de belles montagnes verdoyantes et un ciel bleu éclatant la plupart du temps, pour elle c'était nature se sentir intéressée par la beauté de la nature et sa complexité.
Au fil des années grâce à une pratique constante et au soutient de ses parents elle a acquis la dextérité pour dessiner d'une façon plus où moins réaliste mais ce n'est qu'à son arrivée en France où elle a découvert la peinture et toutes ses nuances.
Depuis ses 24 ans, elle a consacré son temps à dompter les différentes techniques picturales, en utilisant des aquarelles, acryliques, gouache et peinture à l'huile, explorant ainsi la variété des possibilités que chacune d'entre elle peut offrir.
