Karen Garnaud, a contemporary French painter, embarked on her artistic journey after earning a bachelor's degree in applied arts in 1994. With a thirst for experimentation, she delved into various pictorial techniques, enriching her artistic culture along the way.
In 1995, Karen found herself immersed in the world of airbrushing when she was tasked with redecorating a children's carousel. This opportunity served as a self-taught initiation into the technique, and she transformed the ornamental panels of the merry-go-round to suit the owner's taste. Her skills in airbrushing continued to flourish as she ventured into painting motorcycle and paraglider helmets, as well as automobile hoods.
In 1997, Karen showcased a serial work outdoors at Place du Palet in Angoulême, exploring handprints and visual imprints on cork sheets. The same year marked her participation in a collective exhibition of contemporary art at the Mercure Hotel in Angoulême, where her "Puppet sculptures" reflected the societal tension between stereotypes and singularities. This exhibition was part of the first contemporary art auction in Charente, organized by the association "Hors Champs, young creators in freedom."
Throughout diverse professional experiences, always rooted in manual skills and dexterity, Karen has gravitated towards an art form centered on nature, emotion, and the passage of time. For nearly three years, she has joyfully cultivated her own garden, drawing inspiration from the "green corridor" and infusing her work with an atmosphere reminiscent of impressionism and contemplation. In this environment, she finds her muse and meditates on her artistic expressions.
