"La rose blanche" - c'était le nom du petit groupe d'étudiants à Munich condamné à mort par le régime Nazi pour avoir distribué dans le grand escalier de l'université des fiches contre ce régime. Hans et sa soeur Sophie Scholl et tous les 7 autres membres du groupe de résistants ont laissé leur vie pour que l'Allemagne Nazi revenait à la liberté et la démocrate. C'est à leur mémoire et honneur que j'ai mis cette rose dans artmajeur.

Jürgen Briem is a photographic artist born and raised in the Federal Republic of Germany, in the Ruhr region, during the flourishing era of the mining and metallurgical industry of the 1950s. After obtaining his baccalaureate in 1962, he moved to Hamburg to begin studies in contemporary history, sociology and political science. His quest for knowledge then took him to the universities of Tubingen, Hamburg, and Giessen near Frankfurt, where he obtained a doctorate in political science in 1972.

In Germany, Jürgen sees the world in black and white. It was only in France, where he lived and worked as an independent journalist-correspondent for the German professional press, that he discovered colors. Always attracted by ephemeral patterns, he constantly explores the nuances and compositions of his environment.

However, Jürgen notes with concern that the subjects which previously fascinated him are becoming increasingly rare, the world tending to become uniform and devoid of interest, especially for the abstract motifs which particularly captivate him.

Alongside his career as a photographer, Jürgen has a passion for music. After playing in a jazz trio (swing and boogie) where he played the piano himself and was accompanied by two friends on bass and drums, his interest in classical music has strangely taken over in recent years, perhaps linked to the aging process.
