I aim to combine the objects in such a way that the structure, material colour and many other characteristics come together and start work together.
There is a spirit in discarded objects. They've transformed into something else. With my photography I try to discover the hidden identity of the world around us. The mundane becoming special.

Joost Gerritsen graduated cum laude in 1993 from the A.K.I., Academy of Fine Arts, in Enschede, Holland. Since 2006 he lives and works in the countryside of Valencia, Spain. In 2007 he won the Art in the Volkspark Award and has exhibited extensively throughout the Netherlands and Spain. His works are in many collections including the RABO Bank Enschede, SBK Amsterdam and the AKI Academy of Fine Arts, as well as various private collections.
