John se lance dans la peinture à l´age de 10 ans,
à 14 ans il roule sur ses toiles avec son vélo...
Il utilisait toutes les matières pour étancher sa soif de créativité et assouvir sa curiosité, même les épices de sa mère, pas toujours de très bon goût...
A 16 ans, il réalise avec des bombes de laque, des grandes affiches POP ART, dispatchées aux 4 coins de la Scandinavie.


L'histoire familiale le destine à intégrer le monde des affaires.
C' est un peu frustré qu' il relègue alors la peinture au rang de "loisir".

En 1985, il arrive à Paris. Une nouvelle vie, une nouvelle ville, un nouveau pays et une autre culture vont développer son imagination.
C' est enrichit de son expérience française et fort de ses origines danoises qu' il découvre la peinture acrylique "cosmopolite". C´est à ce moment là qu' il va s´épanouir complètement, mélangeant différentes techniques (encre, feutre, sable, or et argent, etc.) à la peinture.
Il obtient alors des résultats abstraits et figuratifs surprenants !
Toujours dans les affaires, Il peint pour des amis et la famille, et avant tout pour lui.

Expressionniste, il est sans cesse á la recherche d´originalité, mais certainement avec plus de sagesse.
Nature et corps humain sont ses principales sources d' inspirations de John Gormsen.

Son leitmotiv ?
Une très grande envie de tout peindre et le refus de se soumettre à un style bien précis.
