This is my best abstract painting so far, and has been in the works for almost 3 years. It's a rare abstract that has a lot of work and planning put into it, and it came out even better than I hoped. It's unframed and has the gallery wrap, wired and ready for hanging. Cross pieces are used to make the stretchers sturdy and prevent bowing. Mixed media on canvas, and one-of-a-kind. This piece works just about as well if you hung it as a horizontal painting. A True mixed media piece. Brush application of paint plus spatter techniques and stencils are utilized, also.

Jeff Cornish is a contemporary award-winning American painter. His favorite themes are about the quality of light, mostly cinematic or noirish lighting, moody night scenes, and female figures.

For his works he got Honorable Mention, Michigan Annual XXXI, in 2003; Grant, Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation, in 2001; Best of Show, Michigan Annual XXI, 1998; People’s Choice Award, Look ‘88; Award for Excellence, Michigan Fine Arts Competition, 1983; Best in Show, Annual Eastern Michigan Exhibition, 1983.

Jeff Cornish was born in 1955, in St. Clair, Michigan, USA, where he graduated from the Central Michigan University of Fine Arts.
