Africa is a continent that is rich in diversity, culture, and natural beauty. From the vast savannas to the vibrant cities, there is something truly captivating about this majestic land. One way to admire the beauty of Africa is through art – specifically through painting.
Jan Keteleer, a renowned artist known for his realistic portrait paintings, has captured the essence of Africa in his stunning artwork. In particular, his painting of an African woman wearing a blue dress is a perfect representation of the beauty that can be found in this continent.
Hand-painted with acrylic and ink on a panel, this painting truly highlights Keteleer's talent and attention to detail. The choice of colors, from the bold blues to the warm browns, creates a striking contrast that perfectly captures the beauty of Africa. The woman's traditional dress adds to the authenticity of the painting, showcasing the rich and diverse culture of this continent.
But it's not just about the subject of the painting – even the frame plays a role in enhancing its beauty. The black wooden frame adds a touch of elegance and sophistication, making the painting a true masterpiece.
Through Keteleer's painting, we are able to see Africa in a different light – not just as a land of wildlife and savannas, but also as a place of vibrant culture and stunning beauty. This painting serves as an invitation for us to discover the wonders of this continent, to appreciate its diversity and embrace its beauty. The work was created by using acrylic and ink on a panel and framed in a black wooden frame. The size of the painting is 40 x 40 cm mounted in a frame of 46 x 46 cm. (thickness about 1 cm) The work is signed on the back of the panel and on the back of the frame.

From his interests in both classical art and modern / contemporary art, Belgian artist Jan Keteleer (JanKé) works with different styles. Ancient art is one of his interests, but you can also find examples of his work in pop art and impressionism. If you browse through Jan Keteleer's portfolio, you will find beautiful nature scenes, painterly images of animals or pop art-based nudes.

After years of working in commercial photography, he turned his interest to artistic black and white photography. Projects such as Speechless, Silent Dialogues and Roots with Taboo brought him fame. He was inspired by the problems of the multicultural society in Belgium, the coexistence of different national and ethnic groups, the issue of the language barrier and the lack of dialogue between the "old" (the native population) and the "new" Belgians (the immigrants).

Today he has devoted himself entirely to digital painting. Using classical techniques such as acrylic and pastel, he creates individual elements that are then digitally brought together and finished.

JanKé attaches great importance to the social significance of his works and integrates them into the context of public space (stations, airports and public transport), prompting the viewer to react and reflect. His projects have received the support of the organization Sprakeloos, which aims to use art to provoke discussion on social issues.

He has had numerous exhibitions in Belgium (in Antwerp, Bruges, Lier, Leuven and Ghent), in the U.S. (in Dallas and San Francisco) and in Poland (in Krakow).
