IsaLia was born from the combination of my first name, Isabelle-Délia, to sign my works.

I am a self-taught abstract art painter.

Art has always accompanied me since my childhood.

My paternal grandfather painted in his spare time. My maternal grandmother loved paintings and at my parents' house many paintings decorated the walls. And all these paintings created no spark in me...

As a child and teenager, I drew a lot. I often associated shells, flowers, tree leaves, wood, paper, fabric, etc. with my paintings.

As an adult, I put aside this creativity and one day I understood that what animated me was abstract art.

It was in 2019 that the desire to paint resurfaced.

I like to explore various techniques and different mediums, such as pastels, markers, ink, pigments, watercolors and acrylic paints with a preference for acrylic.

I need to take pleasure, to have fun, to immerse myself completely in what I do to feel all my senses awakened, my imagination flourish and my creativity expressed.

I like the contact with the material. Touching, kneading, brushing and spreading the paint with my hands, my fingers, my arms, my feet is exhilarating and letting myself be surprised by the result is an inexhaustible richness for me and an immense source of joy.

Using knives and sponges to sculpt the material, give relief or on the contrary, smooth out colors and mix textures delights me.

Taking one or more brushes and letting it slide, undulate on the paper or canvas to create diverse and varied shapes amazes me.

Painting is a new and unique experience every time.

The impermanence of life arises on my canvases through the assembly, the modeling of nuances, contrasts, figures, lines, refined or accentuated movements.

My abstract paintings transcribe an emotion, a sound, a sensation, a state of being, a melody, a smell, a word, a vibration, a flavor, a movement, a moment of life.

I bring matter and light to the invisible.

I let myself breathe, inspire and the creative process comes naturally: such mediums, such techniques, such colors, etc.

Painting is a journey, a meditation, a contemplation, a communion, a symphony, a poetry, a reverie, a dance, an invitation to enjoy the moment.

My abstract paintings awaken the entire human imagination and thrill the heart and soul.
