What effect does music have on a person? - the artist depicts the answer to this question in this photo project.
The body adjusts under the influence of various music, namely, changes in blood pressure, heart rate, rhythm and depth of breathing. Moreover, some people, including Wassily Kandinsky, feel music in the form of lines, shapes and color spots. This sensation of music is caused by such a phenomenon as synesthesia (a neurological phenomenon in which a person connects a signal from one sense organ with a signal from another).

Irina Sokolova, inspired by the works of Kandinsky and scientific discoveries in the field of the effect of music on the body, shows a person's perception of two aspects of music: mental, through synesthesia, trying to feel the colors of each composition; and physical, passing a wave of sound through itself and tuning in to the rhythm of music - draws with light. As a result, the artist receives a frame filled with sounding colors with waves of body vibrations, reproducing a person's experience of this or that composition.

The photographer invites us to immerse ourselves in the world of mental and physical sensations of music, to live it, to realize our feelings and impulses from the composition, comparing our perception with the image. And most importantly, the author invites everyone on a journey to their “I” and to a dialogue with it, encourages them to ask themselves questions:
Why do I listen to music? What does she give me? Where is it taking me?
What do I feel, feel from this or that composition?
And where is the rhythm of my body? What is he?

Irina Sokolova is a photographer and collage artist. The artist works in depth with light, setting color accents and indicating subsequent corrections to the works.

She creates all of her photographs using only technical means, experimenting with optical attachments and shutter speed. The alternation of permanent and flash light sources creates a collage effect.

The work is based on the psychology of modern man and the possibility of finding happiness for him. In her work, the artist examines fears, uncertainty, dependencies and co-dependent relationships, a person's detachment from their biological essence and traditional roots. She sees the psychotherapeutic effect of her work as her goal.

Irina Sokolova was born in the Soviet Union, in Ekshur, on May 22, 1989 in a family of engineers. She lives and works in Moscow (Russia). His work is present in many private collections.
