Inna Sumina is a contemporary Russian painter. Her inner world, which she refers to as a garden, is reflected in her paintings. Her garden is a little chaotic, a little bright, occasionally abstract or, on the other hand, largely arranged or even spectacular. Sumina uses flower portraits to convey herself. Oil is arguably the best medium for expressing the full range of emotions, from confidence to despair. The artist prefers black (dark) backgrounds for her paintings because they highlight how frail and sensitive a flower's spirit is and underline its transient beauty, which tries to be noticed at these peculiar moments.
