Description: The point of view of this fabulous sculpture of Velazquez, created by Aniceto Marinas in 1899 and located next to the Prado Museum, permits to appreciate two relevant traits of the genius painter: his artistic facet as well as his knightly and courageous one. These two attributes, his adventurous spirit and sensitivity, help form this artwork. Velazquez appears surrounded by four rainbow lorikeets from the Australian subtropical forests, with an outfit that emulates their colors. This piece represents a reciprocal relationship: on the one hand, these flashy birds seem to be the whimsical occurrence of a brilliant painter (observe the tip of the brush, which shows the colors that make up the parrots); and on the other hand, the painter's clothing appears tinged with the same tones of the birds, as if it was the beauty of nature which causes for the first time the sensitivity love art or to become an artist. Significance of the artwork: The Artist's Inspiration reminds us that it is not only important to cultivate our artistic sensitivity and to protect the environment; it is also a need to be brave, to have courage throughout our lives. -Glicée print (12 pigmented inks) using museum quality paper Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique 310 g / m2 (satin) - Also available framed by the author if requested. - Please note that the image size is 66.7x100 cm and the total size is 74x111.8 cm (including white border) ----- The point of view of this fabulous sculpture by Velazquez, made by Aniceto Marinas in 1899 and located next to to the Prado Museum, it allows us to appreciate two fundamental features of the brilliant painter: his artistic facet as well as his daring and chivalrous facet, represented by his foil. These two qualities, his adventurous spirit and his sensitivity, help to shape this work, in which Velázquez is shown surrounded by 4 rainbow parrots from the subtropical forests of Australia, wearing clothing that emulates their colors. This composition represents a reciprocal relationship: on the one hand, the coloring of these striking birds seems the whimsical occurrence of a brilliant painter (note the tip of the brush, which shows the colors that make up the parrots); on the other, the painter's clothing appears dyed in the same tones as birds, as if it were the beauty of nature that awakens for the first time the sensitivity in a person to love art or become an artist.
