This painting is one of a series of my paintings with Angels.

Angels in my paintings do not have mouths, as the most important knowledge often arises in silence. And happy is he who hears the voice of an Angel spoken in utter silence and by utter silence. Angels protect people, as well as serve intermediaries between the heavenly and the earthly, between the soul and the body, between our highest capabilities, abilities and talents and our daily life.

The symbol of the house in this painting is an important symbol. Our body is a home for our soul. Our personal space is also our home as it protects us from the dangers of the outside world, and at the same time allows our friends and guests to visit us. The whole world we live in is our home.

Irina (Irene) Makarova was born in Moscow, Russia, and currently lives in London, UK.

Since 2005, she studied painting in the studio of the Russian artist Konstantin Kaufman. She graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute in 2008, and then she took an Art course at Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after Surikov. She joined the International Art Foundation in 2008. She prefers to work in oil and often uses open colours in her artwork.

Irina mostly creates expressive figurative art. The form and relationships between different forms and figures set a huge field of interpretation through different historical and mythological contexts. Irina's paintings are born in her inner world through observation and experience of the surrounding life.

Irina's art was influenced by the pictorial language of the Russian avant-garde of the early twentieth century and the work of German expressionists, as well as by Bosch, Giotto, El Greco, and Modigliani.

Irina has participated in more than 60 exhibitions in Russia and Europe. Her works are in private and public collections in England, Scotland, Russia, France, Italy, Spain, Finland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.
