He worked in the field of easel painting and graphics. The artist has executed a large number of commissioned paintings for public, industrial and cultural centers in Russian cities.
In the works of Igor Primachenko, the viewer meets many characters, with different states of nature. The figurative world created by the painter is filled with vital energy, active knowledge of the world. He is concerned about both the theme of pristine nature and the themes of the modern city, and rural Russia, and small towns with monuments of ancient architecture.
A great place in the artist's work was occupied by marine themes and related subjects of human life by the sea, the architecture of beautiful seaside towns. Numerous creative trips to Kamchatka, Chukotka, the Arctic, the Northern Sea Route and the Mediterranean have become a source of inspiration and the creation of a large number of thematic paintings.
The artist actively participated in the creative and social life of Moscow and Russia. For many years he was chairman of the commission of marine artists of the Union of Artists of the USSR, a member of the Council of the House of Artists of Moscow.
Participant of more than 100 group exhibitions in Moscow, Russia and abroad. Personal exhibitions of the author were presented in Moscow, Tokyo, Niigata, Cologne, Belgrade, Zagreb, Budva.
He was repeatedly awarded diplomas for his participation in exhibitions.
Igor Primachenko's works are in the collections of museums in Russia, the CIS, the Ministry of Culture and the USSR Art Fund, as well as in private collections in Russia, Germany, Japan, Italy, France, Brazil, Yugoslavia, the USA and other countries.
