LA FLORA Work painted by me on poplar wood 60 * 80 cm depicting Lucrezia Borgia in the dress of Flora. It was an exciting adventure for me to interpret Bartolomeo Veneto's painting to my taste. The Opera has been exhibited in various exhibitions, the next will be held in Rome, January 2018, at Palazzo Ferrajoli. I had the pleasure of publishing it in a famous series of Art known as "Contemporary Art and Artists. The Flora was sent by me to have access to the selection for the Metropolitan Empire Prize event held at the American Folk Art Museum MOMA in New York on October 29, 2017, where I was awarded for artistic excellence. Critical description by Dr. Andrea Annaratone: The painting is beautiful. This is understood at the beginning of observation. A strong magnetism permeates the work. observer looks at the protagonist's eyes, asking her an ideal question. But there is no answer. In the golden eyes we read, in return, a silent question. The bounce can last indefinitely. But something breaks the eternal dialogue between silent eyes : the slight rotation of the neck, as if the magnetic gaze, in a moment, should rest its attention on the gaunt bouquet of wildflowers that he holds absent-mindedly in his hand, as if to look at it or smell it. orta to appreciate a clear and beautiful example of female dichotomy, suspended between chastity and sensuality. The elements of chastity are the mannerist drapery relating to the semi-emerald green of the dress, the white of the shirt and scarf, as well as the headdress veil, which listlessly covers some parts of the body. The floral crown and the bouquet complete the chaste and modest part of the work. On the other hand, the elements of sensuality (voluptas); her breasts negligently exposed, as of a woman who anxiously awaits her passionate lover ... The very blond hair with a rich and refined hairstyle, and the hand, ready to throw the bouquet of flowers to the ground, to be able to squeeze and attract the welcome lover. The lock on the chest and the jewel on the forehead are more difficult to interpret. Byzantine elements blend with late fifteenth-century elements. Mysterious esoteric symbology? In fact, the reference of the composition to the "chromatic classicism" of the great Venetian painters and above all of Titian is clear, exalting the particular and fine beauty of the subject, with a very strong sensual value. Valence increasingly accentuated by the dark background and barely hinted at, from which the protagonist emerges with all her sensual, bursting beauty.

Michael Lam e l'evento ebbe sede presso l'American Art Folk Museum Moma di New York.
