The Abstraction creates in me a mixture of sensations of chimerical ideas disconnected from reality.

Hi, I'm Graciete Matos, I was born in Lisbon in 1981.
From an early age I was interested in everything that was geometric and abstract.
The geometric figures gave me a path of ideas to follow, as well as everything that was inexplicable and surreal in abstraction.
I did a degree in Communication Design, I went through other professional areas, without ever losing my artistic side. Later, I started painting again, creating art for myself, then for family and friends since then, I didn't stop.
In my paintings, I use a lot of dark tones such as black, gray, burgundy, dry green and blue tones, these are colors that convey confidence, personality and a lot of creativity. To paint I use a lot of china ink, acrylic paint, markers and pens for small and large details. For the effects or textures I use different materials from day to day.My art is a mix of emotions, which I try to represent through Geometric Abstraction and, Informal or Lyrical Abstraction, where I try to express my feelings and ideas in a natural way with total autonomy, using shapes, lines and colors.
My instinct, my unconscious and my inner need lead to my way of working, which allows different interpretations, with total freedom over the meaning of my art.
