Zineb Ait Addi
Every reason to believe that the world goes wrong, so badly that her beauty is being altered. Yet this beauty I see, as in the extraordinary in the simplicity of everyday life.
I want to be simple and move me. I marvel, grab the soft whispers, smiles, eyes that speak, heads dream.
I want to be "simple" for allowing me to laugh at all our pranks. We are all clowns, "pitchonks" that do the most serious things ridiculously tiny in relation to the universe ...
And if this is important, on the contrary ... every little things ...
So I paint, as it waters a garden, simply because it has to be done ... and telling me that, perhaps, that, surely, it will be useful ...

Festival of young talents gnaoua
Zaouias in fertile soil for several centuries, Morocco has a remarkable diversity of rituals hadra (ecstatic dance, possession ...). The ceremonies are kept alive and vibrant musical traditions through multiple guilds "Sufi" it is possible to divide along an axis more or less spiritual interiority, or more or less externalizing - even of ritualized dramatization - of that interiority. The forms of hal (state, rapture, trance) allow the expression of differences in social, intellectual and aesthetic. On the inner extreme are the Sufi orders prestigious inspired by the biggest names in Moroccan mystique. On the other hand, officiate the confraternities which affects hearing craft or crafts, or even some of them the most simple of society. Their ceremonies and call all the body and spirit.
In Essaouira, today there are primarily two guilds that are popular Hamadcha and, of course, Gnaoua. Both engage in rituals of possession where the pursuit of both hal result from contact with the divine breath provided by a tutelary saint of Islam, or "coming" a djinn or a heart to melk of trance.
What is HAL? It's very difficult to define, but in any case it is for the believer to live a sensory experience with the "invisible." Whether in the dhikr (invocation to God), but also in those magical moments of intensity that may induce Mawal the Arab-Andalusian music, the duende of flamenco, some fabulous operatic arias, or any other time of 'outpouring music miraculously created by a particular artist, he is still experimenting with the dilution of the ego for the benefit of a "power" which is broader and more indefinite than oneself, a time out, an out of bounds - an "emptiness" which is also a fullness.
In all cases we are on the border of utterable to what is beyond language, or more precisely to what is below or above language, where the contiguity of this sensory experience with music and visual arts, who also - in their own way - have the ability to "transcribe infinity through aesthetic form."
Hence the idea to present a thematic exhibition on the concept of hal during the Festival of young talents gnaoua and the establishment of a visual arts workshop El Hal reserved for young Moroccans eager to learn the techniques inherent in the "assembly" of exposure (analysis of the theme, preparation, implementation, monitoring ...).
This exhibition, which is both educational, cultural, artistic, and open to the wider public, unfolds on two additional locations:
On the one hand, Dar Souiri (which take place during the festival concerts Maalem), openness to the world of two main brotherhoods Essaouira designed to allow a wide audience to discover or better ... To understand this, we propose the setting-specific decor of Dar Souiri, development museum of instruments and ritual objects accompanied by explanatory notes, and a dozen photographs, drawings and paintings the activities of Gnaoua and Hamadcha.
On the other hand, Bab Marrakech Borj present in an original in this unique place of an architectural point of view, the works of over twenty artists from Essaouira and the Kingdom of generations and mediums different (painting, sculpture, photography, video), which "translate" a direct, poetic, metaphorical or allusive, the experience of HAL or at least the "idea" where they stand before we give see share.
