Original Artwork refers to any work that is considered authentic and not a copy or imitation of the original works of an artist. Original artwork can be any type of painting, sculpture, performance, or other media. There are many types of original media. Mixed media includes oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings. For workshop paintings that bear evidence of master craftsmanship, this attribution must be further qualified. While they may be less valuable for different reasons, reproductions and copies have had a tremendous impact on our experience. They reach a greater audience than originals and act as a tonic against commodification. Original Artwork could also refer to the first work, which is always preceding all others. It could also refer to a prototype or a model from which other works can be made. Each work bears great similarities to the original.

-Photography Work: Time
-Creation Background and Concept:

Time is a real being, immortal and eternal. When a person is born, he forges an indissoluble bond to it. Time is connected with astronomy and mathematics, history and modernity, art and science and so on, with rich connotations and imaginations, so I desire to touch it from the perspective of visual art, and try to express some images of it with photography.
The work Time is a surreal photography, created based on the elements of "clock", "rust objects" and "people". By integrating the disintegrated time carrier “clock”, the work subject “man” implied on the right of the picture ( the front human face looking at the “clock” in this work) and the rust occupying the greater part of the painting, the work presents a sad scene with mottled colors and fragmented forms. It reflects the cruelty and ruthlessness of time, symbolizing the irreversible demise of objects and people. It has an implied meaning of "time flies, life is short, time is precious and cherished, fate is uncertain and destined and people and time live and die together".
For the so-called immortality and eternity of "time", its existence and meaning belong only to the living as time exists because of the existence of man.

《时间》创作背景与理念：

时间是一种真实的存在，不朽而永恒。
当一个人降生于世，便与它结下不解之缘。时间关联天文与数学、历史与现代、艺术与科学等方面，其内涵丰富，令人遐想，于是我产生了从视觉艺术层面触碰它的愿望，并尝试以摄影来表现它的某种意象。
作品《时间》是一幅超现实摄影，以“钟”、“锈迹物”和“人”为元素进行创作，通过将解体的时间载体“钟”和画面右边隐含的作品主体“人”（这幅作品里看着“钟”的正侧人脸），与占据画幅大部的锈迹物融合，使作品呈现色彩斑驳、形态支离的悲凉景象，它体现时间的残酷和无情，象征物体与人消亡的不可逆转。寓意“光阴似箭人生短，时光宝贵尤珍惜，命运无常天已定，人与时间共生死”的意象。
所谓“时间”的不朽与永恒，其存在和意义仅仅属于生者。
因为时间是因人的存在而存在。

Gai Yu, born in 1962, is a digital artist and photographer whose work reflects a deep passion for visual design and artistic creativity. A graduate of Shandong University of Arts and Design in China, he first made a name for himself in the field of graphic design before expanding his horizons to oil painting, photography and digital art. Currently Assistant Arts Design Specialist, he continues to explore and innovate in these disciplines.

His career has been punctuated by numerous prestigious international exhibitions. In 2015, he participated in the International Art Exhibition in Milan, Italy. He was also present in 2008 at the Osijek Gallery in Croatia and at the International Photography Festival in Knokke-Heist in Belgium. His participation in major events does not stop there: in 2009, he was invited to the International Video Exhibition in Berlin and to the National Design Source Net in India. In 2018, he exhibited at the 10th CPNO International Photography Exhibition in China.

Gai Yu has also made his mark at recent festivals, such as the Return International Art Festival in Weimar in 2021, and the International Photography Circuit of Artists Forum in Kolkata in 2022. He continues to expand his international footprint with notable participations in art circuits such as the Medusa Circuit, the Narmada Circuit, and the Nepal Photo Festival in 2024.

Through his work, Gai Yu seeks to fuse tradition and innovation, combining classic graphic design techniques with the new possibilities offered by digital art and photography. His ability to capture and interpret visual beauty in a multitude of artistic forms makes him a key player in the world of contemporary art.
