Queen Elisabeth II #3 (2024) Digital Arts by Florence Oulhiou

Born in France, I now live near Maastricht. The geographical distance facilitated my conversion to the project that was close to my heart: to become an artist-painter. Today, I devote myself entirely to artistic creation. Jack-of-all-trades, I nevertheless have a predilection for acrylic paint which suits my speed of execution. I paint mainly on square-format canvases.

I am inspired by plant elements and I build collections, accumulations, superpositions. I like to play with colors, contrasts and repetitions. I like to play with shapes and the spaces between shapes. I look for a structure in this profusion. Each new creation is an attempt to bring order to the chaos of the world. The square, with its exact symmetry, is the perfect shape to if not control the world, at least to contain this abundance.

I also enjoy digital creation. Using new technologies, I create drawings, portraits and paintings that put matter and color in the spotlight. I present here a resolutely contemporary work, which surfs on the digital wave by often revisiting the most classic styles.
