Réalisée à l'huile au couteau à palette, en touches généreuses, empâtements, impasto, cette oeuvre est un clin d'oeil assumé au Rococo et au style Louis XV, ornementé, léger, élégant, dionysiaque. Ce style puise son inspiration dans la nature, par l'utilisation de motif floraux, de feuillages, de courbes et arabesques. L'ornementation est la seule prétention de cette oeuvre fleurie de roses sur fond de vert turquoise. Le tondo, ici une toile ronde sur châssis circulaire, prend son origine dans les portraits peints ou sculptés sur un support de format rond, à la Renaissance.
