Data Privacy Management
ArtMajeur has a very strong commitment to privacy; you can access our complete privacy policy on the following page: https://www.artmajeur.com/en/privacy
Are my data protected on ArtMajeur?
YES, all the data you provide on ArtMajeur is stored on a database registered with the CNIL (the official body managing private data) and follows the GDPR guidelines.
All data uploaded to ArtMajeur is stored in ultra-secure facilities classified as N4, compliant with the APSAD R4 standard. Access is strictly limited and secured against all attempts of physical or digital intrusions. All data is redundantly backed up (data is replicated up to 5 times using RAID technology).
Is my data sold to third parties for targeted advertising?
NO, ArtMajeur does not sell user data; our business model is based solely on the sale of services and commerce (sale of original works, art prints). Companies that finance themselves with advertising (Facebook, Google, etc...) need your data to better target and sell more advertising: that is not our case!
Is my email, postal address, or phone number accessible to the public?
NO, no personal data is displayed to the public. Members can choose to display their address or phone number if they wish to receive the public in their studio or gallery: it’s up to you to decide.
Are my information transmitted to the State or other official bodies?
NO, your information is not transmitted to any organization, except at the request of a court in the case of an official investigation, in strict compliance with the law.
Can all ArtMajeur employees access my data?
NO, only employees dedicated to a specific mission (technical support, billing, commercial support) can access a member's account when necessary to resolve an issue you have reported or if you need help with your account, for example.
Is it possible to know my password?
NO, passwords are stored in a highly encrypted manner, and it is impossible to decrypt them. That’s why if you forget your password, it is not possible to “recover” it: you must reset it.
Note: the ArtMajeur team will never ask you for your password via email or chat.
Are my payment information stored by ArtMajeur?
NO, the law prohibits European companies from retaining credit card information. All payment information is retained by an independent service provider that has a banking license in accordance with European Commission standards.
Note: the ArtMajeur team will never ask you for your payment information via email or chat.
Why does ArtMajeur ask me for personal information (phone, address)?
ArtMajeur is a commercial site that allows customers to purchase works from sellers. We are legally required to know who the sellers and buyers are, in order to prevent the resale of stolen goods, counterfeits, etc... Besides legal aspects, we also need to be able to contact you quickly to resolve situations that often arise during the sale of prints or original works! (confirmation of delivery address, package stuck in customs, declined payment card, etc...).
If I deactivate my account, can I reactivate it in the future?
Yes, when you deactivate your account, it is no longer accessible to the public, and the data from your account is archived. You will be able to reactivate it in the future and restore most of the unchanged data.
How can I exercise my right to be forgotten (or "right to deletion")
Every user has the ability to exercise their right to be forgotten and request the complete deletion of their personal data at any time by contacting our team at [email protected].
Is it true that if someone knows my email address or IP address, they can access my account?
No, that is impossible. Both the email and password are required to access your account.
