Jovhanna Rutvanowska is a contemporary award-winning French artist. After representing France at the Universal Exhibition of Lisbon in 1998, Rutvanowska was chosen to create and produce all 16 large stained glass windows in the Saint Bernard church in Lattes/ Montpellier - France.
Marked by "unconsciously figurative abstraction", her work has simultaneously been enriched by the techniques of engraving, drawing and sculpture, where her intimate exploration of the spiritual and a universal vision coexist. Rutvanowska's works are born in an imaginary world where she makes no difference between abstraction and figuration. The subjects of her paintings are told to us like a mythology. Through her painting she makes visible the invisible movements of life. It reveals to us the lost traces of our journey towards infinity. She is currently working on a series of monumental sculptures in her studio in Laverune, France.
Her works are in private and public collections in the USA, Italy, France, Canada, French embassy in Portugal, Vatican museum in Rome, St Bernard church in France, Pau Fine Art museum in France etc.
