In this work ‘Frida, Bill Board 4’, Kahlo is represented as both scarred and fascinating.

Portraits in this series are constructed with three different colour compositions.
The portraits in red, pink and sepia are torn and recomposed in order to create the final portrait.

Inspired by Andy Warhol’s portrait series, each work in this series is based on the same image.
Unlike screen-print, the Bill Board series is produced with reproduction techniques that make each composition unique and original.
The images are mirrored, enlarged and printed, then transferred onto canvas and finished with pastels.
Rough lines and torn edges, remind the viewer of a worn vintage bill board, yet the overall impression is tranquil and soft.
