With "Impermanence" project I want to contribute to the creation of an awareness about transience. Its acceptance can be liberating. As in the history of the emperor who asked his sages for an amulet to help him see the illusion of moments of euphoria and sadness. What they gave him was a sign where it was written "This will also pass."
We know everything passes. Yet, especially in the West, death is a taboo. You can’t even talk about it. The inconvenient reminder that even our lives come to an end is avoided. Who do we lie to? Who are we kidding?
Without denial and without escapism, what we need is to seek preparation for this process. After all, one day all of us will die. We look for an intense life. We only lack the courage to face the fact that this play has an epilogue, which should give meaning to what has come before and prepare the scenes of the next acts, in which we will be, once again, protagonists.
In the incessant quest for love, success, money and appearances, we run in circles at high speed. Till the moment when, suddenly, without warning, this merry-go-round is interrupted. And we are forced to an inner dive that makes us finally question our attachments and accept that everything passes. Even us.
And then? Is there anything after? What lies beyond the tunnel, the bridge, the farewell? In this project, I present life and death as faces of the same coin. With the conviction that there is a sequel to this plot.
And that we must realize that there is death in life and life in death. Yin and Yang.
Death in the various “selfs” we bury in our process of continuous transformation.
Life that goes on in other dimensions and in the memory of all who crossed our path.
