I was born in March 1955 in Kaiserslautern. Painting has been my vocation from the start.
I started painting northern German landscapes in oil at the age of 11. It probably came from the fact that my ancestors on my father's side came from northern Germany (Hamburg and Lübeck). I'm still drawn to the north to this day. This landscape fascinates me a lot.
After training at the master school in Kaiserslautern, I first worked as a decorative and lettering painter, then as an advertising graphic designer - mainly for the Pirmasens shoe industry.
Studies in France and various contacts to local artists expanded my work and gave me inspiration. Most of my work consisted of painting landscapes and still lifes. Real representations of landscapes have always fascinated me, so it should also be the focus of my work. A few years ago I expanded my techniques in the direction of abstract painting, I also rediscovered POP art.
