He attended the artistic high school in Rome where he met Maestro Enrico Gaudenzi.
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome at the Maestro's painting course
Alberto Ziveri.
Lives and works in Rome.
Participates in numerous group exhibitions:
in 1971 at the “Premio Roma” at Palazzo Brancaccio in Rome; in 1974 at the "Marino" Art Gallery From Rome ; in 1975 at the "La nuova Margutta" Gallery of Rome and Palazzo Tè in Mantua; in 1976 and 1977 at the "Boccuzzi" Gallery in Florence and at the "Centro Europeo Firenze"; in 1978 at the First National Painting Prize "Giuseppe Friuli" from Grosseto; in 1982 at the "Sinaide Ghi" watercolor exhibition promoted by the “Brutium” association at Palazzo Pignatelli in Rome; in 1984 at the "Palizzi” and "Carlo Siviero" Awards organized at Palazzo Barberini in Rome; in 1985 he exhibited at the "Porto di Ripetta" art gallery in Rome; in 1990 at the Council Hall of Costacciaro (Pg); in 2002, in the Rococo pavilion of the Coffee House of Palazzo Colonna; in 2003 at the 18x24 biennial in Doha, Qatar; in 2004 at the “Toy Museum” in Albano di Lucania; in 2005 at the Valadier Tower of Ponte Milvio in Rome and at the Palazzo Ducale in Urbania; From 11 to 25 February 2006 Rome (Elsa Morante Municipal Library) with the exhibition “From figurative to pure chromatic substantialism”, in the same year he exhibited at the Castello di Palombara Sabina (Rm) (12-30 September). Also in 2006 he exhibited at the headquarters of the ARCA Association in Rome.
He exhibits in Quali Ideas of Peace a traveling art exhibition “Human Rights” “8 Millennium Development Goals” from 3-10 November 2006 Rome (Elsa Morante Library), from 13-17 November Rome (Piacentina Lo Mastro Council Room, ° Town Hall), from 23-30 November Rome (Corviale Library).
He exhibited from 21 April - 30 June 2007 in Latina (Casa della Musica) at the “School Companions” exhibition.
Exhibition at the Museum of Palazzo Altieri, Oriolo Romano 18 May - 30 October 2007 entitled "The Force of Evidence, The Roman school between past and present".

View allSi entra silenziosamente nello studio del pittore, la voce si abbassa i gesti si fanno lenti, l’uomo è silenzioso, ci pone davanti le sue opere ed inizia il dialogo; dialogo che parte da molto lontano.
Le immagini sono intense cariche di storia, il tessuto cromatico è materico, pastoso e rivela una grande pratica della pittura. Al di là della “citazione”, gli echi fiamminghi, a cui le immagini e le atmosfere ci rimandano, rivelano il percorso storico che Laglia ha introiettato e che sapientemente, con grande rigore compositivo e stilistico, riemerge filtrato e carico di tutta un’esperienza; esperienza di chi ama la pittura di chi se ne nutre di chi ne fa terreno di confronto e di crescita.
Le nature morte, gli oggetti, i personaggi, i ritratti, le ambientazioni le luci gli odori presenti in questi quadri evocano una quotidianità eterna; tutto è calibrato, e conduce ad un’armonia cromatico-compositiva a specchio di un equilibrio microcosmico a sua volta specchio esso stesso di un’armonia cosmica. Ancora una volta l’evento pittorico ci sorprende ci meraviglia e ci offre una chiave di lettura in più. E’ l’eterna poesia della realtà.

Inaugurerà a Istanbul nella prestigiosa sala dell'auditorio“Cemal Reşit Rey Konser Salonu” la mostra di sei pittori italiani , il titolo della mostra è “Da Roma all'antica Bisanzio”.
L'evento è un momento di significativa importanza nell'ambito degli scambi culturali tra Italia e Turchia . I sei artisti, Cristina Annino, Mauro Baldino, Massimo Fiocco, Antonio Laglia, Germana Ponti, Gianluca Tedaldi, presentano una serie di lavori sostanzialmente degli ultimi dieci anni della loro produzione. Le opere eseguite con varie tecniche pittoriche, si articolano dal figurativo alla pura essenza cromatica su tematiche della tradizione di Scuola Romana quali paesaggi, figure, riprese delle vestigia dell'antica Roma, con alcuni omaggi alla città di Istanbul. La peculiarità di questa rassegna non vuole essere la mera rappresentazione di immagini fine a se stessa, ma un momento di riflessione sulla situazione dell'arte contemporanea italiana, confrontandola con la produzione di altre realtà artistiche. In un momento in cui i processi di globalizzazione e integrazione si sviluppano in maniera esponenziale in alcune aree del tessuto sociale che si affacciano sul Mediterraneo, gli eventi artistici diventano riferimento prezioso purchè questi processi evolutivi si sviluppino in un contesto armonico e nel rispetto delle proprie tradizioni culturali. Cristina Annino :Il suo stile è come quello di uno Chagall senza ammiccamenti: nuovissimi motivi come il Cristo-fiotto in cui manca la testa e il sangue si riversa nel cosmo; la figura della madre, immensa e innocua simile alle presenze di gatti, cani, uccelli: rapaci solo d’aspetto. Ogni sua tela è interessante come un racconto e nessuna storia già conosciuta potrebbe dirsi tale se già l’avessimo sentita.
Mauro Baldino : Sicuramente memore della poetica di "Via Cavour", certamente suggestionato dal colore di certo Mafai, dalle tinte fosche di Scipione, Baldino rivive Roma ad ogni pennellata, si immerge nelle sue contraddizioni confondendosi nel vociare dei mercati e delle piazze, nel frastuono del traffico così come nella luminosità ariosa delle ottobrate con un'ironia e una passione cocente e al contempo distaccata.
L'opera di Massimo Fiocco si colloca in un'area d'ispirazione astratto-naturalistica. L'inconciliabilità dell'immaginario individuale con l'esperienza omologatrice dei media, si pone come elemento caratterizzante della sua pittura, decisamente connessa con la coscienza dell'insanabilità di tale conflitto. Nelle sue ultime prove si avverte sempre più urgente l'insofferenza di certo figurativismo di maniera, che traduce l'impianto realistico in atmosfere di acceso cromatismo. Carlo Fabrizio Carli
Antonio Laglia, esponente di quel nuovo realismo di scuola romana e diretto erede del maestro Alberto Ziveri, il più autentico interprete del realismo assoluto, difficilmente eguagliabile, sembra portare in questa collettiva nuova vitalità creativa [...] Non c'è dubbio che al raffinato gusto estetico delle composizioni, di cui Laglia è maestro, si aggiunge la capacità di cogliere, nel taglio pittorico dei volti, l'aspetto psicologico.
Germana Ponti adopera le inquadrature fotografiche stringendo sul soggetto ed intensifica la qualità cromatica delle scene che così acquistano l’intensità da bassorilievo…Come nelle opere di matrice americana e realista, in questi dipinti c’è la scoperta della dignità del presente, la condensazione di vicende in composizioni serrate con una cromia forte ma espressiva.
Gianluca Tedaldi cattura il paesaggio come da un obiettivo; è questo un esempio di come la pittura abbia ricevuto dall'invenzione della fotografia nuovi stimoli, è l'esempio di come questa tecnica abbia modificato anche il modo di vedere e di guardare il mondo. Nel taglio che l'artista dà a certe sue opere l'interesse per il soggetto non meno che per certe angolazioni risulta chiaro: cercare e rappresentare vedute complesse, accettare i suggerimenti che la natura sembra dare all'occhio, organo privilegiato di esplorazione e contemplazione.

Frequenta il liceo Artistico a Roma dove incontra il Maestro Enrico Gaudenzi .
Studia all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma al Corso di pittura del Maestro
Alberto Ziveri.
Vive e lavora a Roma.

Alterna la sua attività di pittore con quella di curatore degli spazi espositivi delle Biblioteche Comunali Elsa Morante e Sandro Onofri di Roma (XIII Municipio). Ha ricevuto riconoscimenti per la sua attività. Le sue opere sono in molte collezioni private.
Ha ricevuto riconoscimenti per la sua attività artistica a Palazzo Brancaccio ("Premio Roma", 1971), gli è stato assegnato il "Premio Sociale Arti Figurative" (Roma, 1975), gli viene assegnata una borsa di studio dal governo ungherese per l’anno accademico 1974-75 e nel 1979 riceve dall’Accademia di San Luca il "Premio Tiratelli".
