Montpellier (2006) Photography by Enrique Crusellas

Nací en Barcelona en 1960. Realizé mis estudios de imagen en la Academía de Joaquin Muntaner. Años después abro un estudio fotográfico en Madrid, lugar donde trabajo con diversas agencías de publicidad, y con empresas editoriales como Espasa- Calpe y Anaya. He realizado cursos de perfeccionamiento en Madrid y en los Creative Workshops de Allschwill (Suiza). Al cabo de unos años, me traslado a Marruecos, y resido en el país durante seis años. He publicado un libro sobre Marruecos titulado: "Marruecos: El orgullo de la tradición". Actualmente trabajo con varías galerías de arte,en Nueva York.
Working in digital and analogic photography, Enrique Crusellas transforms the urban street scene into the surreal. While some of his photographs appear to be directly representacional, others are composite images that mix traditional photography with pop culture and a dash of fantasy. In the skys above the world´s greatest metroplises.

Crusellas depicts fighter jets and floating blimps; images of rock'n roll icons-the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin- are overlaid upon images of cityscapes and storefronts. Crusellas'abstraction of space is achieved through a layering of images and a selective use of color- in primarily black and white images, certain figures or objects are brightly tinted in striking contrast to the monochrome background. With a sense of urban chic and a sleeky pop cultural vibe, Crusellas digital photography through an imaginative use of the digital media.

Crusellas has exhibited his art in France, London and Morocco.
