La construction de cette pièce s’est faite en trois étapes :
la première concerne la vidéo, les images sont des photographies issues d’une ballade en forêt.
De retour chez moi, sur un logiciel de montage ; j’ai voulu recréer cet espace dans la forêt combinant les différents points de vue afin de donner du mouvement dans la succession des photos. Je me suis rendu compte qu’il y avait des vides que je ne pouvais combler, laissant ses parties de l’image en noir.
Le résultat final était plaisant mais restait somme toute anecdotique.
De là m’est venue l’idée de l’installer dans une construction qui fermerait la vidéo…
Plus tard je me suis interrogé sur la forme à construire, j’avais en tête l’idée d’une boîte ou d’un sarcophage avec une forme allongée car je pensais aussi au couple vidéo projecteur/écran comme allant être l’un des chaînons de cette installation.
Le symbole d’un circuit fermé dans la réalité de l’espace.
Travailler la pièce comme une vraie machine où toute partie ou rouage à son «utilité»…
Enfin l’adjonction des oiseaux naturalisés complète l’idée de ces meubles que l’on mettait dans les chambres funéraires égyptiennes afin de pourvoir le défunt de quoi habiter l’autre monde, l’autre dimension.
Toutes visibilités au-delà de la luge par l’écran renvoient la barrière dans le chemin boisé pourtant perméable par l’esprit…

Visual artist, born in 1978 in Lille. currently lives in Caen, France.

I situate my work between a laboratory of forms (search for volume through drawing, painting and sculpture) and a tendency towards DIY (recycling of found objects and materials, transformation of their uses, reinvestment of their signs and questions about their subjects). I approach several mediums at the same time in order to extend the creative process to other fields of research: anthropology, natural sciences, etc.
The pooling of the two works like a small world with its own energy flows.
Usually I start with a series of sketches, notes and diagrams. I also rely on my reading, on a lot of images, which I feed on with bulimia. I exhaust their meanings until there is emulsion. This may explain the dreamy but also saturated appearance of my installations. Without cultivating a pessimistic view of the world, despite everything, I question our future through figures that are close to us, towards an imaginary that I wish to be collective; it is an opening onto a composition with multiple perspectives.
My recurring themes are environmental around the domus (house, private sphere/public sphere, hospital, etc.) and the extended living, according to a spatial questioning centered on the flow of energies, on magnetism and a set of enigmatic correlations.
