This is a snapshot of Autumn 2020, the third season of the COVID 19 pandemic (Corona).
It shows a small part of what it was like to be in hospital: birth, near-death, love. So many simultaneous events for one season. All the above were not part of the pandemic, but simultaneous with the reality of having to change rooms to make way for new cases of COVID 19 and having to wear masks.
It is about medical and artistic interventions in a cornucopia of events experienced in a hospital with an art museum on the ground floor, surrounded by gardens and walks.

Sculpture

Sculpture is an artistic activity which consists of designing and producing shapes in volume, in relief, either in the round (statuary), in high relief, in low relief, by modeling, by direct carving, by welding or assembly. The term sculpture also designates the object resulting from this activity.

Encaustic

Encaustic paint is a mixture of pigments mixed in a molten wax.

Ink

A strongly tinted liquid or paste that is used to mark paper or other printable materials. The design is done manually with a slab, feather, brush, or straightener.

Oil

Paint consisting of pigments bound with linseed oil or carnations. The traditional technique consists of superimposing layers of paint increasingly rich in oil for a solid and durable hanger.

Painting Pastel

Pastel is an instrument widely used in plastic arts. Taking the form of a colored plastic stick, it is composed of pigments, a filler (chalk or plaster) and a binder (gum arabic, oil, wax). We mainly distinguish fatty pastels (oil or wax), dry pastels, whether soft or hard. Invented in Europe at the end of the 15th century, this tool was very quickly used by great portrait painters of French royalty, such as Charles Le Brun, Rosalba Carriera, Jean Siméon Chardin or Maurice Quentin de La Tour, who will be considered the "Prince of pastellists", thanks to a method of fixation of which only he knew the secret.

Pastel

Drawing made with a colored stick. It consists of pigments, a charge and a binder. A distinction is made between dry pastels (soft or hard) and fatty pastels (oil or wax).

Pigments

Paint made with colored powder suspended in a liquid binder to obtain some paint or ink.

Stencil

The stencil is a technique that allows you to reproduce a pattern using a pre-cut plate that is superimposed on the support.

Wax

Sculpture technique using a mixture of pigments diluted in melted wax.

Collages

Collage is an artistic creation technique that consists of making a plastic creation by combining elements of various kinds: more or less flat materials, such as printed oilcloth, painting or drawing, newspaper extracts with text and photos, paper paintings, documents, various objects of low relief, etc. When the creation incorporates elements in relief, one can also speak of assemblage. This also includes glued papers, which employ a variety of papers, including newspaper, and drawing techniques.

Surrealism

Founded in 1923 by the writer André Breton, it will unite many artists like Salvador Dali (1904-1989), Max Ernst, René Magritte (1898-1967), Victor Brauner (1903-1966). Influenced by psychoanalysis, they see psychic life as a new field for renewing the arts. They will develop new ways to create and use new materials.

Technic Painting

Painting is an art form of painting on a surface by aesthetically applying colored fluids. Painters represent a very personal expression on supports such as paper, rock, canvas, wood, bark, glass, concrete and many other substrates. Work of representation or invention, painting can be naturalistic and figurative, or abstract. It can have narrative, descriptive, symbolic, spiritual, or philosophical content.
