Tirage 90x60cm fine art contrecollage sur dibond 2mm
Tirage limité a 10 exemplaires

Oliver Perrot was born in 1963. He studied Art at the Saint Denis University. He presented his work for the first time at the age of 20, during the exhibition « 10 young people, 10 questions to the photography ». Alain Fleig, curator of the exhibition, transmitted him the sacred fire : he decided to become a photographer & a visual artist or…a visual-artist & a photographer, depending on the mood of the moment, the emphasis placed on the light or on his own pictures.
He always lived and worked in the Paris suburb : Montrouge, Nanterre, Vitry or Ivry-sur-Seine. Being on the edge of the city of light, away from sham, in the best place for him to track the traces of all kind of human activities, which is a part of his artistic work.
The other side of his artistic research is about the representation of the reality through photography. He chose several years ago to liberate himself from the camera as a medium, to get closer to the material reality of the subject, taken as a picture, with the photogram technic.
This photochemical picture can be obtained with direct printing on paper through the intervention of light. He produced several series with this technic : Self-portraits, first, representation of body and souls, with inner and invisible violence. He achieved as well an enigmatic, intangible, more peaceful work with photograms made from rain or snow.
In these series, the photogram can be seen as a deliberate and intended way of clouding the issues, so that the traces can become the center of the questions.
Olivier Perrot is a member of “Groupe Novembre”, which he exhibited with recently in Korea and Paris. “Groupe November” was created in 1997 and gathers visual artists. Jean louis Poitevin says about them : « Every picture produced by each artist of the group is like a thorn that moves towards the darkness of our eye, a pin that comes very close to the translucent surface of our cornea, an acid point that erodes the weave of our dreams. »
Eager for new experiences, Olivier Perrot collaborates also with Cassandre magazine and creates the cover of every issue since 1997.
With a chroregrapher, he facilitates a workshop on photograms creations’ in the psychiatric hospital of the Marcel Rivière Institute at la Vérrière.
