An ancient Egyptian legend tells the story of Sebeck, a sculptor famous for his exquisite taste and for the exceptional life he put into all his work. When the Pharaoh's daughter died, Sebeck carved the princess in the form of the goddess Hathor in the decoration of the tomb erected in her honour. So sweet and full of life was the carving that the "Golden One" herself took pity on the sculptor's grief and brought the princess back to life out of the stone her statue was carved in.
